Heinzer Butchers



Let’s get stuck in! Brothers Markus and Rainer Heinzer run the Heinzer butcher’s shop in Muotathal as a third-generation business. At the family business, which was established in 1920 by their grandparents and now has 50 employees, attention is paid to the quality and origin of raw materials. Animals for slaughter is guaranteed to come from an animal-friendly, natural and controlled husbandry. To this end, the Heinzers have maintained personal contact and friendships with the local farmers throughout the years, for example with the ‘Wetterschmöcker’ (farmer weather forecaster), Roman Ulrich, from the Bisis Valley. Transporting animals for the approximately 80 farmers from the Muota Valley region to the company’s in-house slaughterhouse never takes longer than one hour.
